Christine Misner

Christine (Christi) Misner is an award winning artist, instructor and art therapist. Christi has an eclectic style that includes Colorful Fauvism Landscapes, Renaissance Portrait Realism, Book Illustration, Sumi~e, and Abstract Globular Painting. She enjoys intaglio, wood block printing as well as Raku.

Christi has a BFA from Western Michigan University, taken classes toward a MFA at the University of Michigan, art history certificate from University of Cambridge, UK, and international classes at Stavanger Art School in Norway.

Currently Christi is the curator for Journey Works, art displayed at Saint Johns Church, 56050 Buckhorn Rd. in Three Rivers (http://www.sjlutheran.com/journeyworks.html). She also offers art lessons and art therapy.

Christi Misner moved to St. Joseph county from Kalamazoo in 2006, where she had been an art therapist for hospice at Borgess Hospice Nurse Program. Christi had an art therapy program sponsored by the Flint Institute of Art, where she also taught classes for three years. She also instructed art classes at Mott College in Lapeer Michigan.

Christi’s art, (paintings, prints, and drawings) will on display for the Three Rivers Art Hop July 24th, 2010, at Piasanos Restaurant in Three Rivers. In August, 2010, Christi will be teaching water color, drawing and painting at the Community Center in Three Rivers .
